On July 15, 2021, China held the Palestine-Israel Peace Symposium via video link. State Councilor Wang Yi delivered a speech at the symposium, which was chaired by Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Zhai Jun. Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Secretary General of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front Ahmad Majdalani and former Justice Minister of Israel and initiator of Geneva Initiative (a Palestine-Israel civil peace organization) Yossi Beilin led the peace advocates to attend the symposium.

State Councilor Wang Yi elaborated on China's views and proposal for promoting the Palestine-Israel peace under the current situation in his speech, emphasizing that it is important to reaffirm the conviction in peace and expand the ranks of peace advocates; to advocate an attitude of mutual accommodation and move forward the peace talks; to act in a spirit of solidarity and alleviate the humanitarian hardships; to stick to the two-state solution and deliver fairness and justice.

Palestinian and Israeli peace advocates reached a consensus at the symposium, reiterating that the two-state solution is the only viable way; hoping the international community to cause the United Nations to adopt a resolution on reiterating the two-state solution; advocating that countries in the region should normalize their relations with Israeli within the framework of the Arab Peace Initiative; calling on all parties to support the efforts of Palestinian and Israeli peace advocates to promote peace talks. Both sides also expressed great appreciation for China's long-term commitment to advancing the Palestine-Israel peace process, and hope that China will continue to play a bigger role in this regard.

On July 16, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Zhai Jun briefed the media on the Fourth Palestine-Israel Peace Symposium. Zhai Jun said, China held the symposium aimed at providing Palestinian and Israeli peace advocates with a platform for communication and exchanges so as to expand the ranks of peace advocates, gain momentum toward peace, explore the path to peace and co-existence, and contribute to restarting the peace talks between the two sides on the basis of the two-state solution. In the future, China will continue to hold the Palestine-Israel peace symposiums to facilitate the peace talks and play a positive role in promoting a thorough, just and permanent settlement of the Palestine-Israel issue at an early date.
